How to find your way around the course
Before you start the course
You will need ADOBE READER if you want to read or download Portable Document Format (pdf) files. If you do not have it on your computer, download a free version from http://get.adobe.com/reader/
How to use links
Links are coloured words or symbols that take you directly to the location indicated. You will find many of them throughout the course materials. To use a link put the tip of the mouse pointer on the coloured portion (the arrow will change to a pointing finger) and click once with the left mouse button.
How to use the Action Plan
There is an online journal in each Unit called an “Action Plan”, where you can make notes as you work through the course. The Action Plans are optional, but we encourage you to use them to help you keep track of your new healthy ageing strategies. To get to the Action Plans, you can find a link to them at the bottom of the first page of every Unit. You can visit and add to your Action Plans as often as you wish and your notes will be saved each time by clicking on the “Save Changes” button. You can also print your Action Plans for future reference.
How to navigate through the course
The course begins with the Healthy Ageing Quiz. Once you have taken the quiz, there are 9 Units to complete the course. We recommend that you complete each of the Units in the order that they appear by clicking on the “next page” link at the bottom of each “page”. This will take you through the entire course.
There is also a drop down menu at the bottom of the screen that allows you to “jump to” a particular page.
The navigation bar along the right-hand side of the screen can also help you move around the course. Simply click on the name of the Unit you wish to go to.
What to do if you encounter problems
If a link to an external web site (a URL) does not work, try it again some time later. It is not unusual for a web site to be unavailable for a short time even though the link to it is still valid.
